High Tech Systems Center (HTSC) Newsletter

The High Tech Systems Center is developing and growing as a multi-departmental center from four different departments of TU Eindhoven, with Prof. Jeroen Voeten as scientific director. Ton Peijnenburg (VDL-ETG), Marc Hamilton (Cap Gemini) and Tom Castenmiller (ASML) have all joined the HTSC as fellows from industry.

A major activity of the HTSC has been the creation of the Netherlands–South Korea Future Chips Academy with 60 participants from South-Korea and TU/e in February. And on February 1, we celebrated the completion of the active contamination control project ACCESS with VDL-ETG with a mini-symposium displaying the results of the project. In this issue, you can also meet two prize-winning students who did their research in this project and an interview with three of the main actors behind the project. By the way, did you know about the existence of the Mechatronics working group? In this newsletter, Joost Bolder shares what this select group of experts from industry and research is aiming for. As for the next activity, our upcoming Research Meet on May 23 at TU/e will consider how simulation and modeling can facilitate more physical content for digital twinning. We hope to see you again then and there!

Research Meet 23 May 2024

We warmly invite you for the HTSC Research Meet

"Simulation and Modeling for Digital Twinning"

The rise of digital twinning as an integral part of the system lifecycle influences the role of simulation. What would be the influence of digital twinning on current simulations, and what can be the relevance of simulation for digital twinning? In this Research Meet we explore experiences with simulation in various scopes and phases of development processes.
