Electrochemical National Symposium  | On 12 May, 2025, over 220 participants gathered in Utrecht to get up to speed with the latest scientific insights into electrochemical conversion and storage. Read more



Green week | From 19 May to 23 May, TU/e GO Green Office and the Sustainability Office organized the Green Week. This year’s theme was ‘Responsible Resourcing’, relating to the power of giving resources a second life – on campus, in our habits, and in our future. Read more



Counting the cost | On 1 May, Climate scientist Heleen de Coninck discussed the challenges and solutions for climate finance and technology on Al Jazeera, emphasizing the need for systemic changes. Read more


EDUCATION


Combatting a scrapheap of electronics | As of last April, a first group of students has enrolled in the new Circular Electronics course. Its lecturer and initiator Lorenzo Ceccarelli explains the ins and outs. Read more



Learning students to take the systems perspective | Where in Europe would be the ideal location to implement direct air capture technologies? Within a new CBL course, groups of second-year bachelor students are taking a multidisciplinary systems perspective on this question and other pressing challenges. Read more

AWARDS/ PRIZES/ GRANTS

NWO-KIC project | DPARt, led by Qi Han and Dujuan Yang, will focus on digital pathways for accelerating collective decision-making of energy renovation in the Built Environment. Read more

MSCA fellows | Three out of the six Marie Curie fellows who recently started at TU/e are working on energy-related topics. Read more

Interreg project ACCU | The Interreg NWE funded ACCU project aims to deduce how to organize local integrations of local renewable electricity generation with heating solutions in Local Energy Communities. Read more

PEOPLE

Argon power cycle | In his PhD research Max Peters investigated a bold new concept: using hydrogen as a fuel in an argon-enhanced power cycle. He defended his PhD thesis at the Department of Mechanical Engineering on 20 May. Read more
